Can Aromatherapy Cure Anything?

Can Aromatherapy Cure Anything? The first thing anybody usually asks about when the subject of aromatherapy comes up is, does that stuff really work?

This is entirely normal because most people have never really given it much thought, much less tried aromatherapy. So, does aromatherapy really work or is it completely bogus? First of all, aromatherapy is nothing new. It has been around since before the pyramids - It is an ageless medical standby and in the dark ages of mecine it was often aroma therapy that was prescribed for whatever ailed you.

To really answer the question, aroma therapy can not cure anything. Its curitive powers are in its ability to act upon certain receptors in the brain that facilitate your body's acceptance of the medicines and protocols that really do the actual job of healing.

So what about major illnesses? Can aromatherapy really help with illnesses and/or psychological problems? The simple answer is that aromatherapy does not cure any illnesses. Anyone who begins any kind of anaroma therapy with the idea that they are going to cure any illness is off on the wrong foot and will be seriously disappointed, if not seriously disadvantaged by the failure of their expected outcome.

Aromatherapy doen't work like that. It strength is geared towards helping you cope with a physical condition, and the symptoms of an illness. It will help to improve your mood and temporarily relieve stress and anxiety. In the smae way, it helps with other psychological diseases. This does not mean all of your symptoms or issues will disappear. It does mean that aromatherapy can help make these symptoms and issues easier to deal with.

No cure for major illness

Aromatherapy is unable to cure cancer, AIDS, or other major illnesses. Instead, it can help to calm the fear, reduce nausea, and enhance a person's overall mood. It should never be used as a primary treatment method for any major illness. It only acts as a complementary treatment that supports other treatments already ongoing.

It can offer the possibility of taking the place of prescription or over-the-counter chemical drugs in certain areas. For instance, it can offer quite a strong benefit in dealing with indigestion, inflammation, skincare, hygiene, wounds, and mental or emotional issues.

In addition, aromatherapy will not work the same way for each person who tries it. Your sensory memory is going to affect how or when therapy will work for you. Therefore, if you have previously had a bad experience with a particular sense, it will probably have no impact or the desired effect.

Snake Oil Salesmen

Do some research on the company where you are planning to buy your essential oils or other aromatherapy treatment ingredients. You want to make sure they are using all-natural ingredients and that they are giving you the correct information on how to use the ingredients. For instance, be leery of companies that tell you to use essential oils on your skin. You should only use essential oils on your skin if they are diluted. There are many mislabeled products on the market and a tremendous amount of misinformation that may also make bogus claims as to the so-called healing properties of aromatherapy and essential oils.

To start with, don't be fooled by companies who will try to pass off cheap, pleasant smelling herbs and oils as true aromatherapy products. Some companies will hype their products with baseless claims as aromatherapy in order to make more sales. In some countries such as the United States, aromatherapy products are treated like any other chemical compounds and required by the FCC to appropriately identificaty all of the ingredients. Make sure that what you were looking at contains all-natural ingredients, not synthetic ones.
